Multicultural Family Camp 


From 18th~19th of July, Gyeongnam province held a multicultural family consultation camp with 20 families, total of 62 people, in Yangsan city.

The camp has been held to help the foreigners who have immigrated to Korea for marriage but experiencing hardship due to different cultural backgrounds.
In order to overcome the problem, the project has focused on educating the male Korean partner ( in most cases) who are at the center of the marriage hardship. 

On first day, family group mission was proceeded along with discussion about overcoming emotional conflict between partners, education program for the husband, and happy couple life tips

On next day, discussion on understanding multiculturalism, and problem-solving between married couples programs were continued.  


Uu-Myong-Hee  "Gyeongnam Women Family Policy" representative has made a statement hoping that the immigrated wives in Korea be happier in their family life in Korea and be able to overcome their difficulties with their partners. 

Watch a Movie in a Museum? 

From July 25th~August 23rd every Saturday and Sunday, 
a family movie is screened in Dorib Art Museum Hall.

Gyeongnam Dorib Museum (curator Yun-Bokhi) has created an event for visitors to bring their children to see and experience different programs.

The "Family Movie Event" has been held since 2004 every year, and this year animations such as Kumba, Airplane-Firefighter Rescuers, Frozen, and more has been selected to be screened. The movie starts every Saturday and Sunday at 11 am and 3 pm in 1 base floor of Gyeongnam Art Museum Hall. 
[Plitzer Prize Photos] [Single Channel Video Exhibition] and [Spread of Elephant Wrinkles] exhibitions are held as well along with the movies.  

Safety Measures: Water Incident ZERO

  This summer Gyeongnam has planned July 15th~August 17th as a special period to focus on safety measures to prevent any sort of incidents from visitors of Gyeongnam province this following summer vacation. 
In recent 5 years, death caused by playing in waters has been 196 cases nationally ( 25 in Gyeongnam).
The incident has mainly been caused by ignoring safety precautions 94 cases (48%), not being able to swim properly 49 cases (25%), and etc. 143 cases (73%) has been due to not taking precautions of safety measures when playing in waters. 

Gyeongnam has announced to take safety measures till end of August to ZERO the incident cases this summer. The province and county will work together to dispatch T/F team (1,400 members) for safety management focusing on educating CPR and water rescue methods at different locations in Gyeongnam.
