Changnyeong Local Food

 Look at the amazing colors of the dishes of Korean Table dhote~!
During the travel in Changnyeong, many local residents recommended this place.

 After passing the entrance of Changwhasa mountain, it was only a five minute walk to the restaurant. There is a bit of a slope but it was only a short walking distance. The place is only 15 minutes by taxi from Changneyong bus terminal as well.

 The parking area is huge and well decorated. Not only the beautiful scenery of forests surrounding the restaurant but also the items displayed.

 This funny looking wood figure is supposed to protect the surrounding area.

 Most of the items displayed here had a very oriental thematic to it.

 There was little pavilion as well to sit and take a break. Some customers used the table to drink or eat outside.

 The name of the restaurant is Minsok-madang meaning Folk Garden. The signs is also very unique and somewhat oriental.


 As you enter the restaurant, you will be more surprised of its interior. Many of the items here are things that could be seen in old Korean times.

 The owners of the restaurants kindly greeted us to the table.

 After neatly displaying the table we chose Upo Korean Table dhote. At here there are only 3 kinds to choose from the menu. 3 different kinds of Korean Table dhote (menu differs and price differs)

 Here was the appetizer. It was a beautiful dish and had to take a photo right away.
From left, there is the soy-sauced egg slice, Asian yam, and sweet nuts in a kale wrap.
 Fermented soy bean soup and rice was served.

 
This Asian yam is very slippery yet soft. It is known to cover your stomach with mucin which is very good for digestion.

 Fried yellow corvina always appears in Korean Table dhote. It is a luxurious fish well enjoyed by many Korean aristocrats in old days.

 A salad with mustard sauce.

 Chapche which is Korean noodles pan-fried with various vegetables and meat.

 It is a salted Cham-namul. It has a bit of bitterness to it but it is really good for your health.

 A radish leaves Kimchi and salted/spicy octopus side dishes.

 3 different wild vegetables were served. From left gosari, bean sprouts, and spinach.

 A fresh tofu with mixed vegetables in gochujang ( hot pepper paste)

 This was the main dish. Pork stew known as 'Galbi-Chim.' It was not bold but sweet and bit spicy. The pork was well stewed and meat fell right off just by biting into it.

 Here is all the menus served in upo Korean Table dhote. What many people enjoy about Korean foods is that it is all about balance and it shows by its color of the food. It just makes us healthy by looking at it.

The desserts are served.
This is sujungga, a sweet cinnamon drink and grapes grown in Gyeongnam.
Overall meal was neatly served and generous. If you are travelling in Changnyeong, don't forget about this place. You won't regret it~!
