Changwon Dongpan Reservoir 'The Best Gyeongnam Photo Spot"


Dongpan reservoir is located in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. Dongpan and Junnam are the most popular reservoirs in Changwon and both are located nearby. When entering upon the front of Junnam Reservoir, Dongpan is right-beside.


Many Changwon residents visit Junnam for a family outing but Dongpan has been known to be popular spot for photographers. Many photographers wait to take the beautiful photos of the morning scenery of the reservoir.



 Especially during winter, a layer of fog cover up the silent waters and it is truly a magnificent beauty. A great spots to see fogs are also in many spots of Gyeongnam such as Bongam Reservoir in Masan, Weyangji in Miryang, and Hapcheonho Port in Hapcheon.




 The fogs start to disappear as the sun goes up. As it can be seen trees grow under water in Dongpan Reservoir. The reflection of trees on water makes the scenery more mysterious and makes a great image for photographers.


 Dongpan and Junnam is a natural habitat for great amount of winter birds. There are various birds such as the white-naped crane, whopper swan, spoonbill, and baikal teal. Photographers wait for hours here to take photos of the rare white-naped crane.
