Korean Traditional Hanok Accommodations in Gyeongsangnam-do~!

Hanok is a term to describe Korean traditional houses. The ideal house is built with a mountain in the back and a river in the front, with the ondol heated rock system for unique heating system of South Korea. 
House differ according to region. In the cold northern regions of Korea, houses are built in a closed square form to retain heat better. In central regions, houses are 'L' shaped. 
In Southern region, Gyeongsangnam-do, hanok is built in an open 'I' form.

The hanok village located under the Hwaaksan Mt. is a well conserved traditional Korean housing which to Korean people may give the memories of visiting their grandmother's house in a country area when they were young.


The village is all formed of hanok buildings and it is a recommended accommodation to spend a night after enjoying the nearby attractions such as natural cheese making and horse back riding.

 Hanok Experience Hall in Gimhae

There is a well built hanok in Hadong area where it is given a tour to tourists to see the beauty of hanok architecture. The place is not an accommodation and the owner of the place gives a free tour around.


There are three buildings in this area which each building is built of different theme and story.



The interior of the hanok buildings is decorated in mix of Korean and Western culture.


The fireplace in a living room gives a cozy feeling of warmth to hanok building.


There is a open kitchen and two dining tables where Western or Korean style meals can be served.
