Gyeongnam Beach Recommendation Series 3

This week we recommend a place to heal your soul at where there is peace and tranquility. 

Tongyeong Yeondae Mongdol 


The Yeondae Mongdol beach is located in Yeondae Island in Tongyeong. 
Many come here believing that black mongdol rock has a prevention and treatment effect of neuralgia. The water at Yeondae Mongdol also known for its clear and clean waters. There are pine trees forest surrounding the area which provide a nice shade for visitors to hide away from the sun. 





As you go down the stairs from the observation platform,
 there is a small area of mongdol beach. 


Yeondae mongdol beach is a secret gem of Yeondae Island. 
It is one of the hottest tour spots of Tongyeong.  



Geoje Wahyun Sand and Forest Beach 


 On September 2003, the tornado "Memi" had hit many areas of Korean peninsula and  Wahyun village was one of them. The beautiful sandy beach turned to gravel, and the houses around the area had became unrecognizable.
The villagers and the Geoje town worked hard to restore the area for years.
After 10 years, the name "Wahyun Beach" changed to "Wahyun Sand and Forest Beach" to celebrate its restoration.



The sands are so fine and glisten with golden colors. Wahyun Sand and Forest beach is loved by many visitors for its beautiful sands. 



Children enjoy their time with their grandfather making sand castles. 


Other facilities include a trailer camp zone.  
There are info center, bathroom facilities, shower area, dish washing sinks, and 
multi sports area as well. 


    You can also see this otter statue at Wahyun beach. 


 Namhae Sulli Beach 

What is enjoyable about this place is that it is not crowded by tourist during the peak season. The beach sand is white and pearl in color and water is warm due to Namhae sea. It is located at the south end of Namhae so it hardly snows in winter as well at this place. 


Because of its shiny white sands, some call it "Silver Light Beach"





There are no facilities to spend a night near here, but this spot would be 
 recommended for those who want to enjoy a quite time 
to themselves.
