How to go to Changnyeong from Seoul


 Changnyeong is located at the southeast of Gyeongsangnamdo and only 1 hour bus ride to Milyang-si.

 Buses to Changnyeong are only available from Seoul Nambu Terminal



 Nambus bus terminal is located right in front of Exit 5 of Nambus Bus Terminal Station Line 3

 This is the entrance of Nambus Bus Terminal.

 You can buy tickets at his booth on the spot or use the ticket printing machine by swiping your credit card used to book online.

 Make sure to find your platform and take the bus 5~10 mins before departure.

 This is the Changnyeong Bus Terminal.

 This is the front entrance of the Changnyeong Bus Terminal.

Here you can buy tickets either in person or by machine. There is no ticket printing machine at this terminal unfortunately.

This is the inside of Changnyeong Bus Terminal. There is a convenience store and a little snack bar at the corner.

 
To go to Seoul make sure to find the platform number 1.

Upo Eco Village Youth Hostel in Changnyeong

 If you are coming to Changnyeong to take a photo of the beautiful Upo Wetland, there is a affordable place to spend the night with a good value. It is newly built with just over 5 month. By car it is about 20 mins to get to front entrance of the Upo Wetland Ecology Center and only 15 mins walk to the northern end of Upo.  

This is the front entrance of Upo Youth Hostel.

 
As you can see, the housing are surrounded by nature. There is a pond as well that looks similar to the Upo Wetland habitat.

 
This is the office where you can check in and check out. You will be receiving a key to your room here.

 
There are three types of housing of different size accommodating for single travelers to family travelers.

Each housing is given a number and a name of the species that live in Upo habitat. 

 The single room sized housings have three rooms in each building.

 The rooms are small but has everything you need. There is mini fridge, television, and air-conditioner.

 The beds are prepared inside each room. There is no western beds available, but there is a thick mattress provided.


A small kitchen is there to prepare simple foods.


 Bathrooms are very clean and tidy. 

Here you can enjoy seating on the bench of the pavilion and can have a outside BBQ looking over the landscape of the village.

 Just 50m, there is a Upo Wetland situated at the northern end from the entrance of Ecology Center.

On the way to Upo Wetland, an marvelous park was located behind the hostel.

                       
There are no stores or restaurants available around the hostel so the convenience store inside the hostel will be only place to buy water or food. 


 
Here is the laundry room.

 As you can see there are bigger housing that are available accommodating 10~12 people. The price range is 50,000~150,000 won. The single rooms are 50,000 won, middle room 100,000 won and big rooms 150,000 won. For its price it is definitely a place to recommend for a place to stay.

2015 Autumn Foliage Season in Gyeongnam

What do you await the most when the autumn starts? 
It would probably be the colorful foliage for sure. It is a work of art by just looking at the different colors of leaves mixed together with the background of blue sky.

Changnyeong Street Market

Ever been to a Korean Street Market?
This market place is the biggest one in Changnyeong. The  o(5)-il-jang which opens once in 5days starts from early morning till early afternoon.  
 
 
 In Korea, still the older generations prefer the street market over franchise big mega marts.
What is good about the street market is that you can get a good quality products for a cheap price through bargaining.

 The flowers and trees are sold at a cheap price with so many varieties.

 The customers and street clerks come and enjoy the market foods of Changnyeong.
Look at the colors of these stews~! The price is only 6000 won.

The truck is loaded with so many different kinds of fruits.

 Here is a dried seafood corner. In Korea dried octopus and shrimps are used in cooking as well as snack with drinks.

Those who like to snack and taste bit and bit of everything, market is also a good place. Here they sell the famous homemade dumplings and donuts.

 Here is the seafood corner where the clerk cuts it into pieces for you.

 This is the dried herb section which is used for medicinal purpose. Some older generations buys these and makes a extract of healthy drink.

 This photo tells you how variety of dishes are developed in Korean foods. From salted to variety of spices, you will have a hard time to choose which side dish to try.

Fresh vegetable section where locally grown products are sold. 5 paprikas for 3 dollars!
It is definitely cheaper than the franchised market place.
 

 There are other products than ingredients and food as well. These are the products made of bamboo strip. You can use this for storage or dishes.

Do you know about jangdokde? This earthenwares are perfect for fermenting and keeping foods for years and years. Many Korean people use it to store gochujang (red pepper paste), doenjang (fermented bean paste), and salted foods.
How about shopping at a Korean market? You will be satisfied of the quality and the price of the things sold here~!
