After a long, cold winter, a train station no longer in service comes alive.

The Gyeonghwa Station has been off duty since 2006, but throngs of visitors travel south to the station every spring to see the epic scenery of cherry blossoms.

CNN Go has chosen the Gyeonghwa Station as one of the top 50 places that people must visit in Korea.

The station is also called Cherry Blossom Theme Station, where hundreds of shimmery pink trees are lined 800m before the entrance. Tourists are busy strolling along the romantic road, taking shots of romantic moments.

Wait until a train passes by to capture the most elegant scenery -- rosy flower petals fly into the air and showers down ever so heavenly. Photographers eagerly wait beside the railroads to snap a shot.

Numerous movies and dramas were filmed here, due to the romantic scenery. For a more exciting trip, watch "On Air" (2008) or "Spring Waltz" (2006) before your trip, and live a day as your favorite character by visiting the exact same spots they stood at the station.

Gyeonghwa Station is most popular during Changwon's Gunhangje Festival period, which runs from late March to early Spring. One of Korea's most famous cherry blossom festivals began in 1952 to honor late General Yi Sun-shin, but now it has grown to welcome two million tourists from around the world.

This year's Gunhangje Festival runs until April 10, and Changwon is already packed with visitors eager to see the lively spring trees. For a speedy trip, ride a train from Seoul to Jinhae Station, or a shuttle bus from Changwon to Jinhae Station. When it's not festival week, you can also ride a KTX to Miryang Station, and then ride another train to Jinhae Station.

If you're traveling by bus or plane, arrive in Busan, Masan or Changwon and take a intercity bus. The hour-long bus from Busan to Jinhae are available 52 times a day.
