There's a Korean saying that goes as follows: "Water is good and mountain is good." In a country where 70 percent of land is mountains and valleys, it seems rare for a certain spot to hear such an accolade.

Sancheong, in Korean, literally means pure mountain. The water rafting programs are especially popular among visitors who are out for an exotic adventure. Especially at Kyeongho River, you can row the boat while looking around the breathtaking natural landscape.

You will find tens of water rafting shops near Kyeongho River, so it's needless to bring special equipment. The river is shallow, so don't even worry about drowning.
The water rafting programs begin with a 10-minute-long orientation right after you sign up. The small yellow boats floating on the placid river will fill you with anticipation.

In the orientation, you will learn how to row and sit on the boat. Soon afterwards comes the downfall experience!

The downfall section of the rafting program is filled with screams and laughter. Some boats even capsize, but no need to worry because the water is shallow.
After the fanatic downfall comes the elegant landscape, where you can see the peak of the second highest mountain in Korea, Mt. Jiri (1,919m).

Last stop of the ride -- Dubuso, where the water fight begins. The deep and still water might seem like an exclusive pool for the rafters.
The highlight of Dubuso is the diving experience. Use the 5-meter-high rock as a diving board, and there you have it! Your own luxurious swimming pool.

Run your own diving show at Dubuso. What's your favorite pose? Falling down vertically? Horizontally? What about hugging your loved ones and jumping together? At Kyeongho River, any pose will do.

The Kyeongho River rafting courses change routes depending on water quantity. You can choose between eight to 18km-long courses. Adult fees cost 30,000 won. For more information, log on to Sancheong County's official English homepage at http://tour.sancheong.go.kr/eng/subpage/index.do
